Winter Wishes

The Rice Creek Elementary School community is working with Ridge View High School on their Winter Wishes charity drive.  We are helping by collecting non-perishable items from November 9th until November 20th.  These items will be donated to God's Storehouse.  Some of the desired food items are:

Ravioli, chili, canned chicken/tuna,  Vienna sausage, crackers, soups,  powered milk, juice , pre-sweetened drink mixes (Kool-aid etc.), peanut butter, jelly, Jell-O & pudding, dried pasta,  spaghetti sauce, macaroni & cheese, rice, instant potatoes, oatmeal,  grits, pancake/waffle mixes, syrup,  flour, sugar, salt & pepper, spices, oil, cornmeal, canned beans, vegetables & fruit (especially with pop tops for homeless clients)

We are also collecting money in our car rider line and at the bus loop on December 2 from 7:15a.m. until 8:10. Proceeds will go to Harvest Hope.  Ridgeview students will come and help collect funds on that day.

Report Cards went home on Thursday and we had a small celebration with the two homerooms together to celebrate students on the honor roll.  Congratulations to everyone that met their goals for the nine weeks!

We have a Veteran's Day luncheon on Wednesday, November 11. Please let us know if you are planning on joining us, the cafeteria needs to plan ahead.  Mrs. Pennekamp's lunch is at 11:59 and Mrs. Corn's is at 12:05.  We are also having a Veteran's Day assembly on Tuesday, November 10th at 8:40.  We are asking students to please wear a plain blue shirt.

The permission slip for our next field study went home yesterday.  We are going to the State Museum on Friday, November 20.  Our first activity is scheduled for 9:00, so we will be leaving the school as soon as all buses arrive.  Please have students eat before arriving at school.
